Applying for Aid

For UNC Charlotte, only one application is required to apply for federal and state financial aid; it is commonly referred to as the “FAFSA”.

To apply for financial aid:

  • Submit the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)
  • Be sure to enter our school code (002975) so that we receive your FAFSA information
  • All students must reapply for aid every year
  • You can apply for financial aid at any time, but will need to be fully admitted before you are given a financial aid package

Deadlines for submitting your FAFSA:

You will receive your financial aid offer based on when you submit your FAFSA*. The earlier you submit your FAFSA, the earlier you will receive your financial aid offer.

The priority deadline for submitting the 2025-2026 FAFSA is March 1, 2025.

  • New students: If you submit by the priority deadline, you’re guaranteed an offer by April 1
    • If you are planning to attend, but waiting on an admission decision, don’t wait to complete your FAFSA.
  • Continuing students: If you submit by the priority deadline, you’re guaranteed an offer by mid-May

*Must have all outstanding requirements complete.
