Any changes to your class schedule that occurs before the last day to add or drop a class may cause your grant award to be adjusted.

Please keep in mind that most grant awards are disbursed based on the number of credit hours enrolled. Any changes to your class schedule that occurs before the last day to add or drop a class may cause your grant awards to be adjusted. You may see multiple adjustments on your student account.
If grants are posted to your account as a full-time student and you drop to less than full-time after your financial aid refund is issued, you may owe a portion of your refund back to the University.
Here is information on grant disbursement based on the number of credit hours enrolled each term:
Grants that are prorated based on the number of credit hours enrolled
- Federal Pell Grant
- Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant (SEOG)
- Tuition Assistance Grant (TAG)
- TEACH Grant
Grant awards that are halved for less than full-time enrollment (6-11 credit hours)
- UNC Need-based Grant
- NC Lottery Scholarship
- NC Scholarship
Grants that require full-time enrollment and North Carolina residency (12+ credit hours)
- State Appropriated Grant (SAG)
